On 2/21/93 Lenoir City was struck by a tornado , killing one woman, injuring 55 and destroyed several blocks of the city. A few months later, a major blizzard hit the area.

Vernie Myers quilt
This quilt was made from flour sacks in the 1930s by Vernie Pearl Myers, a Loudon County resident. The quilt was made on a quilt table that hung from the ceiling and was lowered by a pulley system when it was in use. The size of the quilt is approximately 58” by 76”

Vernie Myers crafts
The bonnet was sewn and embroidered in 1959 by Vernie Pearl Myers, a citizen of Loudon County. The bonnet was given to Vicky S. Coulter in 1960.
