Welcome to the Loudon County Virtual Archives. The purpose for creating these archives has many reasons. First, the archives are here to help students and adults research and educate themselves about their ancestors from Loudon County and to gain an appreciation for local history. Secondly, the archives are here to help preserve the rich history of our county.

This is a collection of history and stories ranging from the 1790s to modern day events. Most of the stories found in this book are about the first people or events that centered around the town of Blair's Ferry/Loudon. Take a peek at the first mills, church, schools, railroad line, bridges, political leaders, businesses, and he people who ran them.Learn about the role Loudon played during the Civil War and take a look at the 15 veterans who have banners placed in their honor at the Loudon Courthouse lawn. If you are a Loudon High School alumni, you can read about teams and individuals and their accomplishments. Several first person stories and interviews help make these stories come alive.

The Loudon County History Project on YouTube, which began in 2019, features over fifty interviews. These interviews offer insights into the stories of residents from various towns in Loudon County, including Greenback, Lenoir City, Loudon, Philadelphia, and Tellico Village. Explore their experiences and learn about their contributions to the county's legacy in "Preserving Loudon County's Legacy."
